Ready for Halloween!

Happy Friday Everyone! My week has sped by so quickly. But I'm ready for a full fun weekend starting with a Halloween night spent with my son, Kenzie who will be caught up in the excitement of Trick-or-Treating. I'm not sure what he will be. Right now he is debating between Bob the Builder or a New Generation Pirate. I will let my 4-year old son decide. Once he makes up his mind, I will be able to let you know! Until then ... Feel "Love Letter" for Fall

Hello to all of my blog readers, How is your day going as we leave summer behind and head into Fall? There are so many events and activities going on this time of year, we much to do and enjoy during the Fall season. Myself, I fully enjoy long drives to see the brilliance of Fall color change. It's like a fashion show with Nature's pajamas on parade. A treat so fleeting you must not delay if you will be allowed to catch the show before all the leaves fall down. There is such a great inspiration for me in this once a year event. I absorb it all as we drive and go straight back to my studio and paint, to find our new 2010 collection. What's wrong with me rushing ahead in time to talk about 2010? I'll get back to today, this Fall ... with our very first fun event arriving this weekend. Halloween. Yes, Halloween! I must pull a few pillows together for a Fall Love Letter scene to be caught, a mood setting shot. Happy Halloween everyone!

Love Letter

Hi Everyone, The holiday season arrives much sooner than I thought. It really begins with the Halloween costume party. Settings now decorated with soft lights. It's the time of year for getting together with long lost friends and family. There is an overwhelming aura of positive warm feeling. The holiday spirit, I think it's all about the love that everyone has for another. Why shouldn't we have special accents like Valentine pillows, for all of these treasured holiday occasions? Not just to toss about on one special day, but a Love Letter to start setting the holiday mood in your home a little bit earlier. Hurry into Fall..Again!

Well, I think I'm not finish raving about the beauties of the fall season just yet. In my last blog, I forget to mention another warm color...chocolate brown. I love chocolate! Just thinking about the warmth richness of chocolate is inspiring. Adding chocolate fabric color to a room is no exception to the warm velvety presence it conveys. The first pillow we tried in the new chocolate fabric is Dorathy. One of my customers loves it and is not alone because it has been a good selling item. Since that was such a hit with the Dorathy design, I decided to add more design choices using my rich, warm chocolate fabric colors. Have I gotten carried away with my love of chocolate? It seems I have used this color for a new accent pattern everywhere. Yes, I mean it... everywhere!

Fall For Black.....

Oh dear! .... Fall has come. Leaves have begun fluttering to the ground and the rain storms have started rolling in. Once the weather is cooling down, you know the holidays will soon begin. Some people dread the colder season. I say,what is not to love about these changes? They bring variety and new inspiration to our lives. With the new colors and shapes along with the new energies of emotion as we start the new season gives me new ideas. I'm getting a lot of inspiration as I watch the world change outside. This is the perfect time to change your living room around and get ready for a gathering of friends and the upcoming parties. Adding a little warmer fabric to the decor of our home always adds spark and coziness for the holiday season. This year I am finding the warmth of black against the light of bright really inspiring. What do you think about black and white? I pulled together several accent pillow designs that have this color combination such as Chain, Linear and River Walk. How about a little color accent such as Simplicity to brighten fall and winter days? It adds just the right small spark of vivid hues to the warmth and light feeling. How about you? What colors and patterns are inspiring you today as the arrival of fall changes the very energy in the air? I would love to see if you have a different look or style of using accent pillows in your room setting for the coming of fall. Engagement

Welcome to the Pure Palette blog. I'm so glad you dropped by.

When I first created the latest pillow design the pattern lead me to think of what I did in the past. So at first I decided to name my new pillow 'O Link'... After giving it a bit more thought, it struck me that this name really didn't fit well with such a colorful geometric design and elegantly stylish pillow. A new name was needed for this new look. The sudden inspiration was that this particular pillow should be given the name,'Engagement' after a colleague remarked that the pattern reminded them of how the world interacts through global connections. Being linked and engaged make a wonderful pair, don't you think? As does the accent gained from teaming our Link and Engagement pillows together. What are your thoughts on such a naming concept? We hope everyone will agree with me that this is an excellent way to describe effective teamwork. (By the way, you can drop me a comment that you may have about the new Engagement pillow, I always eager to hear from you.)
